AREA recruits Director of Business Development to focus on Lead Generation and Marketing the Region

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) June 13, 2023 –The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) has hired a new Director of Marketing and Communications to advance the organization’s identity and highlight economic growth within the region.

Rebecca Swanson was formerly a Communications Specialist for the City of Albuquerque handling media relations for the Police Department. Rebecca brings with her experience in communications, social and digital media, marketing and event planning. Prior to working at the city, Rebecca was a broadcast news reporter for more than a decade, reporting for the local CBS affiliate and in various other news markets throughout the country.

Swanson will be responsible for communications both internally and externally to include press releases, press conferences, social media and marketing for AREA. Through this role, she will work closely with all facets of the organization’s internal team as well as local and national media, to boost project awareness and support, to in turn attract more talent.
