AED organized a marketing trip around
the Forbes CEO Europe conference, meeting representatives
from 18 companies and industry organizations
in London, Munich and Paris.

- Los Angeles (May
2005)
AED staff traveled to Los Angeles to
meet with representatives from four different
companies to discuss expansion opportunities
in the Albuquerque metro area. In addition,
AED staff visited the NSTI Nanotechnology Conference
to promote the area to new and expanding small
tech companies.

potential opportunities in the Albuquerque metro

Events
- SCHOTT Solar Groundbreaking
(March 2008)
On March 3rd SCHOTT Solar broke ground for its
$500 million solar product manufacturing plant
in Albuquerque, creating as many as 1,500 jobs
at peak production. The $100 million initial
investment will require 200,000 square-feet
and is expected to begin operations in early
2009 with 350 employees.

- AED's First Annual
Golf Classic (October 2007)
AED was able to raise over $75,000 from the
event, which will be used to promote out-of-state
business recruiting efforts. 136 participants
from the business community played in the tournament
for prizes and bragging rights. AED will host
the Second Annual Golf Classic in the fall of
2008.
- VIP Weekend, Albuquerque
International Balloon Fiesta (October 2007)
AED hosted a VIP Weekend for representatives
from various companies considering the Albuquerque
area as a site for the expansion of their business.
- New Mexico
Symphony Orchestra (February 2007)
AED honored new and expanding businesses at
the event, which featured a performance by the
Mambo Kings. Sponsors were introduced during
the performance and representatives from new
and expanding companies were honored at a private
reception.

consultants and representatives from a few companies
considering expanding to the Albuquerque area.

Receives FAA Certification (July 2006)
AED traveled to EAA 2006 AirVenture
in Oshkosh, WI to see Federal Aviation Administration

Aviation with provisional type certification
for the world's first Very Light Jet: the Eclipse

Aviation Receives Collier Trophy (May 2006)
AED Chairman Carolyn Monroe, Past Chairman
Sherman McCorkle, Former Chairman Bob Murphy,
and President Gary Tonjes went to a gala ceremony
in Washington, D.C. to support Albuquerque-based
Eclipse Aviation. Eclipse was honored as the
recipient of this year's Robert J. Collier Trophy,
the industry's highest award for innovation
in the advancement of general aviation.

- Tempur-Pedic Groundbreaking
(September 2004)
AED hosted a groundbreaking ceremony
for mattress and pillow manufacturer Tempur-Pedic
International Inc., which selected Albuquerque
as the site for its 750,000-square-foot facility
slated to open in 2006.

Luncheon Featured Speaker Rich Karlgaard, Publisher
of Forbes Magazine (September 2004)
Forbes Publisher Rich Karlgaard spoke
at AED's Quarterly Investor Luncheon. Karlgaard
said that the rising costs of doing business
in states such as California and New York will
only benefit New Mexico.
