Aida Roberts

Vice President of Business Development

Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA)

As Vice President of Business Development for Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA), Aida Roberts leads efforts to attract new investment and drive economic growth across the Greater Albuquerque region. She works closely with companies, site selectors, brokers, and community partners to support business recruitment, expansion, and long-term regional growth.

Aida is a dedicated economic development professional with experience spanning site selection, tax analysis, business recruitment, and regional partnerships. Throughout her career, she has supported and helped lead projects representing more than $6.3 billion in capital investment, including major wins such as Pacific Fusion, Castelion, Rivian, Mantis Space, and Gotham Greens. These projects have strengthened her expertise in navigating complex site selection processes, coordinating multi-stakeholder partnerships, and positioning regions for long-term economic success.

Prior to joining AREA, she was part of the Location Advisory team at McGuire Sponsel, where she specialized in tax strategy and site selection, helping companies identify the best locations for growth and expansion.

Before that, Aida worked in county-level economic development with the Walton County Development Authority, where she gained valuable experience supporting regional projects, including Rivian, and developed a strong understanding of how collaboration between local, regional, and state partners drives successful economic development. Her work included managing RFIs, utilizing GIS and market data tools, developing marketing materials, supporting stakeholder partnerships, and working alongside state and local leaders to attract new business investment.

Aida holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business. Outside of work, she enjoys cheering on her college football team (Go Dawgs!), traveling, and spending time on the golf course. She is passionate about building strong relationships and creating opportunities that help both companies and communities thrive.
