Joe Farr

Mr. Farr has been a licensed real estate broker in New Mexico since 1994 and is also a licensed real estate
instructor in the state. He has earned the prestigious CCIM designation for his demonstrated experience and
understanding of commercial real estate. While at his prior employer he was responsible for the asset
management of almost 6 million square feet of commercial properties located in 46 different cities and 14
states across the United States. His duties included maximizing investor value and returns, lease negotiation
and analyses, management of third party and in-house leasing brokers, oversight of personnel, disposition of
assigned assets, loan compliance, legal compliance, budgeting, and preparation of business plans. His
negotiation skills have contributed to the closing of over $500 million in commercial real estate transactions
including thousands of leases. He has also directed the creation of two commercial real estate companies in
two different states. He currently owns Duke City Commercial, LLC with his wife, Trish, which provides
sales, leasing, property management and advisory services for commercial real estate has assets under
management of approximately two million square feet in New Mexico. Joe’s understanding of commercial
real estate as an investment is further advanced by his prior experience as a licensed Investment Advisor,
where he held various securities licenses including the Series 7, 63, 65, and 31.

Mr. Farr is very involved in the local community including economic development and workforce
development initiatives and frequently volunteers his time and efforts towards improvements in these areas.
He is currently an active member of: the Executive Committee of NAIOP NM (he was the Chair for 2020
and serves on the Government Affairs Committee for New Mexico), the Commercial Association of Realtors
of New Mexico (CARNM), Commercial Information Exchange (CIE), Economic Forum, and the National
Dance Institute (NDI-where he serves on its Corporate Council and was previously Chair), Certified
Commercial Investment Member (CCIM-where he previously served on the National Government Affairs
Committee, and has also served on the International Committee). He also serves on Albuquerque Regional
Economic Alliance, formerly Albuquerque Economic Development (where he serves as a member of the
Executive Committee, and was Chair for 2021), and he is on the board of the local community college (CNM)
Foundation (and has been named Chair-elect for 2025) and was previously a member of the New Mexico
Partnership’s Leadership Advisory Committee (a State economic development group).

Joe was honored to have been named as the Commercial Real Estate Association of New Mexico (CARNM)
Realtor of the year for 2020. He has also been named a Top 100 Commercial Real Estate Influencer in
America for 2019 by American Business Journals, and was inducted in 2019 as a member of Lambda Alpha
International (LAI), the international honorary organization for individuals whom have been nominated and
elected to be among those who have distinguished themselves in land economics. He is currently on the
Executive Committee of LAI. Joe was also named as a Powerbroker for all four quarters of 2022 by CoStar,
a national commercial real estate listing service. He has also been appointed by the State of New Mexico to
serve as the Chair of the Economic Opportunity Review Board among six state cabinet secretaries and six
private sector experts, to oversee allocation of Economic Opportunity Funds with a current appropriation of
$245 million.

Mr. Farr grew up in the commercial real estate business, under the mentorship of his father and worked on
his first commercial lease at 16 years old. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor
Degree in Psychology and a distributed minor in Economics, Management, Computer Science, and Math. He
is married to his wire, Trish of more than 30 years and has three adult children living in New Mexico.
