Building a Regional Economy – “Economic Development 101”- January 17, 2025

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Where is the Goodwill Opportunity Center?

5000 San Mateo Blvd NE 87109 – This is off San Mateo, just South of McLeod Rd.

Please park to the north side of the parking lot and look for the side that says SERVICES above the door – that’s where you’ll want to be!

There is a lobby and Goodwill has asked that guests sign in at the reception desk before heading into the training room.

Can I bring a guest?

In-person seats are limited at this event (and already sold out!). Every person who wants to join us in-person must have already registered as so.

We will also be live streaming this event through a ZOOM Webinar and we welcome everyone still looking to attend to join us online! If you know someone who is interested, please direct them to register online at www.abq.org/events.

What’s the schedule?

Doors open at 9 a.m. for registration and coffee (please do not arrive before 9 a.m.).

Our formal program will start promptly at 9:30 a.m.

If you want a sneak peek at our training agenda, it can be found here: https://www.abq.org/ed101/. We encourage you to review this material ahead of time as there are pre-reading materials, articles and information to help you prepare for the program.

This website will also have all our speaker materials available for download on the day of the event!

What’s included in my registration?

  • A deep dive into all things Economic Development! Attendees will end the day with an advanced understanding of the economic development profession,  what it means to build a regional economy, how we are executing this work day-to-day, and even some practical application skills.
  • Snacks, drinks, and lunch catered in from Panera. All thanks to our incredible Refreshment Sponsors (KW Consulting, Duke City Commercial, WaFd Bank, and the NMSU Arrowhead Center) for making this possible.
  • A dozen lucky winners will receive copies of Jay Garner’s book ‘Economic Development is [STILL] Not For Amateurs!’ (must be present to win…)

We look forward to seeing you all on Friday!
