AREA recruits Director of Business Development to focus on Lead Generation and Marketing the Region

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) July 5, 2023 – The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) has hired a new Director of Business Development to pave the way in lead generation as well as marketing the region.

Paul Dahlgren has more than a decade of experience in marketing, communications, and
economic development with strong ties to New Mexico. Prior to joining AREA, Paul served as
the Director of Communications and Marketing for the New Mexico Mortgage Finance
Authority. Paul also previously worked as the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of
Las Cruces, leading business retention and expansion efforts in the now thriving downtown area.

Receiving his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from New Mexico
State University, Paul takes a data-driven approach to marketing and business development and
has an eye for detail.

As Director of Business Development, Paul will focus on increasing lead generation efforts in
target industries to create more business interest and investment in the market. Paul will also be
responsible for executing and overseeing targeted and strategic paid marketing campaigns
designed to increase brand visibility of the greater Albuquerque region on a national scale, to
include design strategies for regional pitches and lead generation activities as well as industry
related events.

Paul will additionally represent the organization by developing and maintaining relationships
with clients, providing support and guidance when needed, as well as touring prospective
