BlueHalo’s Albuquerque Expansion Continues with City Incentive Approval and New Lease in Sandia Science and Technology Park

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – BlueHalo achieved another important growth milestone by receiving final approval of a $16 million industrial revenue bond (IRB) and $2.5 million in Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) incentives from the City of Albuquerque and State of New Mexico. The IRB and LEDA funds, approved at the City Council meeting held on June 22, 2022, will be used for the renovation of BlueHalo’s building located at 10800 Gibson Boulevard SE in the Sandia Science and Technology Park (SS&TP). BlueHalo previously announced expansion plans at the Gibson address and is now announcing the signing of a new lease, adding another 83,000 square feet of manufacturing, research and development, and office space to accommodate the company’s increasing program activity and job creation.

BlueHalo’s latest lease at 1300 Eubank Boulevard SE will bring the company’s total Albuquerque footprint to over 200,000 square feet. Collectively, the company’s facilities in the SS&TP represent an investment in BlueHalo’s employees and customers by providing a true campus that will foster greater team collaboration and ingenuity.

The company has already commenced renovations at the Gibson building and will subsequently turn attention to the Eubank facility. This state-of-the-art campus is being built specifically to accommodate continued technology innovation and rapid transition to manufacturing for BlueHalo products across multiple mission areas, including Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Systems; c-UAS and Directed Energy; Laser Communications; and Space-Qualified Electronics and Systems, such as Stabilized Precision Optics and Tracking (SPOT) products.

“BlueHalo is committed to innovation, which is only possible with leading-edge facilities where research and development teams can collaborate and innovate,” said Katie Selbe, BlueHalo’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are excited to further our partnership with New Mexico advancing the nation’s technical capabilities. We look forward to expanding our physical footprint and growing the team in Albuquerque.”

“As BlueHalo continues to serve a primary role in groundbreaking programs for our customers, it is essential for us to continue growing our facilities in terms of physical size, number of employees, and technological capability,” said Dan Gillings, BlueHalo Sector President. “It has been exciting to see our expansion in New Mexico for manufacturing continue to take shape with the improvements at our Gibson facility, the approval of the IRB and LEDA funds, and the signing of the new lease at 1300 Eubank.”

“High-value, high-paying jobs pave the way to high-quality futures for Albuquerque residents. BlueHalo’s new location is a symbol of their commitment to support economic growth in our community,” said Charles Ashley III, Economic Development Department Director for the City of Albuquerque. “Albuquerque is a national leader in space and directed energy technology and this partnership is yet another example of how we are working to expand opportunity for this city and create an economy that works for everyone.”

“BlueHalo’s expansion in the region illustrates our growth as a center for excellence and innovation in space engineering technology and will drive significant additional induced and indirect economic outcomes in the community,” said Danielle Casey, President & CEO of the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA).
